Key Skill: Chromakeying video
This weeks session introduced us to working with moving images/footage within Ae, and Chromakeying (or greenscreening). My first attempt at chromakeying was with this shiba with the light pink background, however, the lack of difference in hue between background and subject has left a hole in his muzzle when he turns. One way to avoid this would be to cut before the turn to a different shot...however I wanted to know how to more seamlessly create transparency behind a moving character, |

After failing to seamlessly key out the shiba in the above video, I requested help from Matt, who explained that with more dubious background colours, the Roto-brush tool is used to create transparency behind a moving character with AI tech predicting and rendering a mask, This worked a treat, and he appears flawlessly now in front of my wavy, neon background. (background = shape layer x 2. wave warp fx - pin to bottom line and speed/width increased) Other Key Skills:
